A few months ago, when Rhiannon Agostinho tried looking for a group on Facebook where she could chat with people about the CBC and its happenings, she came up empty. So she started her own. Today, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation group is one of many of Facebook groups where thousands of fans gather. Rhiannon, an editor at CBC Newsworld, says the group was originally meant for CBC employes, but “Since then, other people have joined and given feedback which is great; I want more of that.”

As correctly predicted by none other than yours truly in the year 2007, abysmal video games based on awful movies was a trend that I expected to continue in the year 2008. It did not take long to prove my prediction correct. When a film is somewhat appealing, then there could be a small glimmer of hope for a success (ala The Chronicles of Riddick:

This includes an interactive Electoral College map and a preset Google Trends search. Google also leverages some of its other services for this purpose: The primary audience seems to be K-12, but college-level uses can be imagined.
